Second person imperative
If we want to give orders or instructions to someone else we can use imperative sentences. The imperative is made with the base form of a verb (in other words, the infinitive without to or the bare infinitive) at the beginning of a sentence.
Sit down, please.
Have something to eat.
Shut the window.
If we want to make the negative form of the second person imperative, we put do not or don't in front of a verb.
Don't be angry.
Do not use my mobile.
Don't do it again.
We can also mention a person in the command, usually at the end of the sentence.
Help yourself, Greg.
Pass me the salt, Marion.
If we talk to more people, we use the pronoun you to make the distinction between them.
You take out the rubbish and you wash the dishes.
You stand in the queue and you ask in the information office.
